The XXXL Ponies

Many years ago, I was working from home and browsing through equine.com.  Hubby and I had just purchased a small farm with a barn and a few acres with the intent that some day I would get another horse.

I came across an ad for a "Husband Horse" and thought great!  I'll get one for him as well.  Knowing full well that all the grooming and tacking up would fall to me as while he likes horses, he wouldn't be all that interested in dealing with that stuff.  But that was a-ok with me as I like all aspects of horse care.

In the ad, the description mentioned the seller had another horse she was selling.  The picture was of a big Belgian cross.  Also perfect as Hubby is 6'3" and I'm 6'.

Long story short, we went, we saw, we bought.

Jake is a 17hh Belgian-crossed-with-something.  Clearly he favors his Belgian relatives!

And Dai is ... is... something.  I've been told she looks like a Spotted Draft and based on pictures I found in the interwebz, I'm going to go with that.  Whatever she is, she is sure pretty!

This is a picture I had someone draw of them after describing their personalities.  Jake is always front and center and demanding cookies and attention.  Dai is quite shy, Hubby calls her Timid Tammy, and she's always hiding behind Jake.  Until cookies.
